Wide range of comparison operations

In many situations, analytics are just another word for comparing one set of values to another.

Nextanalytics lets you compare anything to anything, even if they are from different data sources.

Following is an overview of the comparison operations.

Compare to adjacent cell

Show each cell as a percent of the cell to it’s left. This is great for time series data because it shows (in percentage) the changes from one period to the following.

Compare to another crosstab

Show each cell as a percent of previous period.  This is great for comparing a set of numbers to another, where the column and row labels match.  This could be used for comparing actuals to budget, for example.

Compare specific value

Load a target value and compare to that.  This is great for when all the numbers in a page need to be compared to a specific value (perhaps that value was loaded as target).

Compare all rows to specific row

Show each cell as a percent of another row, even if it is from a different data source.  This is great for situations where you have calculated an average row.  This row might be the average of all the other rows, or perhaps it is the average of the top ten rows.  In either case, all the cells can be shown as a percentage of the correspond cell in this row.

Compare all columns to specific column

Show each cell as a percent of the last column in the row, even if it is from a different data source. This is great if you calculate a new column, perhaps the average or sum of all the other columns. This would make all the columns show as percentages of that column.
