Year-over-year sales report

Most CRM applications and sales reporting portals include a historical comparison report, usually year-over-year or simply this period compared to last year. With nextanalytics, that simple report is just the starting point for understanding how your business has changed.

Starting with a simple query from your database, get a listing of the product sales over time. No need for complicated SQL queries - let nextanalytics work for you.

From here, it is a couple of simple script commands to turn it into a pivot table of products by quarter.

While many report authors would feel they have achieved a significant goal at this point, it was so easy with nextanalytics let's go a little farther. In this example, we will explore which products are growing fastest, and which had the largest dollar increases in sales.

If we back up a bit to the pivot table results (all previous 'pages' in an analysis are available to nextanalytics), we can sort on the last column to see the top selling products for the most recent quarter. Using the same quick commands for year-over-year growth and net change, we can see these metrics for the top selling products. Now we'd have a whole bunch of numbers aren't really meaningful to people, though, so let's use the power of nextanalytics and grab the highlights in a 1-2-3 punch: 

1- grab the top 10 products by percentage growth

2- grab the top 10 products by dollar sales increase 

3- display the sales of the products that are in both lists i.e. the Hot Products
